Education & Experience

I hold an MA in Written Communication and a BS in English Language and Literature from Eastern Michigan University. From 2010–2016, I taught a wide range of writing courses at DePaul University.

An active member of the Editorial Freelancers Association and ACES: The Society for Editing, I have completed training in advanced copyediting and am an Intermediate Member at CIEP: The Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.

Books and articles I edited and proofread have been published by The MIT Press, Rowman and Littlefield, University of California Press, Duke University Press, as well as The Review of Economics and Statistics, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and elsewhere.

I have also edited for Michigan State University Center for Regional Food Systems and The American Enterprise Institute.

My creative writing has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, Best of Net, and was selected as notable in The Best American Essays.

Always on the lookout for a good story, I also work as a freelance writer for businesses, organizations, and publications.
