About

I bring nearly two decades of experience working with writing—as a writer, educator, and editor. Since 2020, I’ve worked professionally with nonfiction authors, scholars, and subject-matter experts on books, essays, articles, and other substantial projects.

My years teaching writing at DePaul University and Eastern Michigan University gave me a deeply practical education in editing: reading closely, asking useful questions, and helping writers develop their ideas and their craft.

I hold an MA in Written Communication and a BS in English Language and Literature from Eastern Michigan University.

My editorial work has included projects published by The MIT Press, University of California Press, Duke University Press, and other university and independent presses, as well as articles and essays in journals. Projects I’ve edited have been recognized by the Next Generation Indie Book Awards, Foreword INDIES, International Book Awards, and the Canadian Studies Network.

A Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net nominee with work recognized in The Best American Essays, my writing spans cultural journalism, criticism, literary nonfiction, poetry, and in-depth profiles.
