Thanks for visiting! I am an award-winning writer with a passion for telling compelling stories. My work has spurred community conversations, enriched the legacies of organizations, and was selected as notable in Best American Essays 2018.
I hold a master’s degree in Written Communication and have six years of experience as a digital marketer and content writer. I help large and small organizations—from Anheuser-Busch to exciting local businesses—to improve their reach and communicate their unique visions. I am always learning and hold certifications in Google analytics, SEO and content writing.
A former high school English teacher and education news junkie, I also cover K-12 education as a freelance journalist.
Most recently, my work has focused on my commitment to environmental issues. I provided strategic content writing to a start up focused on supporting people in building planet-friendly habits and collaborated with a nonprofit in securing a grant to build local rain gardens.
On the creative front, my nonfiction on endangered lake sturgeon was nominated for the Pushcart Prize.
I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In my spare time, I love to wander Blandford Nature Center with my four-year-old son and hang out with my husband at The Meanwhile.
