Education & Experience

Before launching my editorial business, I spent eight years teaching writing at DePaul University and Eastern Michigan University, where I learned that great writing emerges from clarity of thought, curiosity, and craft.

I hold an MA in Written Communication and a BS in English Language and Literature from Eastern Michigan University, and I’m an active member of the Editorial Freelancers Association and ACES: The Society for Editing, with advanced training from the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP).

Books and articles I’ve edited have been published by presses including MIT Press, University of California Press, and Duke University Press, and in journals such as The Review of Economics and Statistics and Journal of Consumer Culture.

My own essays and poetry have appeared in literary journals, nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net, and noted in The Best American Essays.

Always on the lookout for a good story, I also work as a freelance writer and content strategist for businesses, organizations, and publications.
