Education & Experience

Before launching my editorial business, I spent eight years teaching writing at DePaul University and Eastern Michigan University, where I learned that great writing emerges from clarity of thought, curiosity, and craft.

As an editor, my recent projects have gone on to become finalists for the Next Generation Indie Book Awards, International Book Awards, Foreword INDIES, and win a Canadian Studies Network book award.

I hold an MA in Written Communication and a BS in English Language and Literature from Eastern Michigan University, and I’m an active member of the Editorial Freelancers Association and ACES: The Society for Editing, with advanced training from the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP).

Books and articles I’ve edited and proofread have been published by The MIT Press, University of California Press, and Duke University Press, and in journals such as The Review of Economics and Statistics and Journal of Consumer Culture.

My essays and poetry have appeared in literary journals, earned nominations for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net, and received mention in The Best American Essays.
